About Michelle Lloyd
Michelle is originally from New Zealand but moved to the USA with her husband in 2010.
Michelle has always been involved with helping families in some capacity. She has been a nanny for over 25 years, a foster parent for 8 years and, for the past 5 years, a postpartum doula and newborn care specialist.
While living in Springfield, MO she saw a need for more postpartum support. She certified with CAPPA as a postpartum doula and completed her newborn care specialist training with Newborn Care Training Academy.
Because of her own journey through infertility, Michelle has had a lot of opportunities to encourage families that have also struggled with loss or infertility issues. It brings her great joy to see some of those same families go on to grow their family through various ways.
In 2019, Michelle started a Fertility Support Practitioner Course with Doula Canada to be better educated in supporting families who are also on this path.
Michelle learned about GroovaRoo in 2016 and immediately loved the idea of teaching families to dance with their babies. She trained as a GroovaRoo instructor in San Diego and started classes in Nashville soon after. She enjoys seeing it help pregnant moms and families with newborns.
When Michelle gets the opportunity, she loves to travel. She also enjoys attending soul line dancing classes and aqua aerobics.
Since being in Nashville she attends as many Predators games as she can. Go Preds!

Well, I’ll start by saying Michelle is the reason we are going to have a third baby! I had PPD after my first, so we knew we needed a plan when I got pregnant for the second time. Enter Michelle. She is incredibly knowledgeable. From babywearing our newborn to potty training our toddler, she had thoughtful advice on all of it. She was with us 2 nights a week and 2 days a week, and I honestly looked forward to her being here – not only because she was so helpful (and did things I didn’t ask her to do like empty the diaper pails!!) but because I honestly just enjoyed her company. We laughed a lot! And that’s just as important for healthy postpartum recovery as rest is (at least for this enneagram 7!).EC

Michelle met our newborn the first night we were home from the hospital and has loved on him (and us) beautifully ever since. Her encouragement has been the greatest gift to our family and has empowered us as new parents. We feel blessed to be able to trust our son with Michelle and know that he is safe and in good hands every time she is here. One of our favorite moments so far has been when Michelle took time out of her weekend to come by and show us how to wear our baby carriers and then gave us a glimpse of her GroovaRoo class!! We look forward to having her grow with our family.KF
